Also in this event’s 24 year old history, till today nobody has been able to win this race. In fact two people had died and many have broken their bones to clear this 2.42 square km race. Seriously man, it will require some balls to win this race.
Just came to know about the news of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard trapped in some restaurant and where she was bravely rescued by dozens of police officers. This restaurant was the venue of some conference but shortly it looked like some battle scene when it was suddenly got surrounded by a wild crowd of Aboriginal protestors.
This whole situation risen up when Opposition leader Tony Abbot said in a statement that the protest camp that has been set up to fight for the rights of Australian Aborigines should be shut. It infuriated the aboriginal community and they zoomed towards the venue where Julia Gillard and Tony Abbot were housed in.
The reason for me to write about this news because I am mighty impressed with the bravery of the Julia Gillard’s security personnel’s that circled around its Prime Minister and saved her from the attack. Check out the interesting pictures of this story, it’s a scene straight from some Hollywood blockbuster.
After seeing the merciless beating of Indian cricket team firstly by the hands of England and then by Australia in test matches even the ardent fans of India has lost faith in the team. Everyone is shaken & stirred. Well I am also one of them, even I hadn’t expected such a scathing wrath on Indian team. Today was the 4 th day of final test between India v/s Australia and as usual India is staring at another humiliating defeat by the hands of Aussies. The Australians are just four wickets away from 4-0 whitewash. For Dhoni & Co. it would be straight eight losses on the trot in overseas. Indeed it is a very shameful chapter in the Indian test history. I hope this should be the last Australian tour of the Trinity’s of India’s batting - V V S Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Selectors should not waste any more time in dropping these trios from national team. I am sure even these trios wouldn’t have wanted this tour to go like this. But after seeing India’s debacle in Australia, I think it is the right time to bid farewell to these guys. They have served Indian cricket more than enough, made more than enough money to survive and now they should themselves retire respectfully. Let the youth brigade of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma take the reins from them. The only Indian who managed to salvage some pride of India in the batting department was Virat Kohli. He was the only batsman to score hundred against Aussies, I know this hundred came very late but at least it came. After proving his mettle in T-20 & One dayers, Virat Kohli again showed why he’s such an asset to the team. Surely he has bright future in test cricket also. The manner in which Indians played Down Under it is no doubt a strong wakeup call for selectors to think seriously about the future of Indian cricket team.
