Abhinav Bindra Ends Drought For India At Olympics !

When Abhinav Bindra participated in the Sydney Olympics in the year 2000, he was the youngest participa
nt in the Olympics with mere 17 years of age. Everybody had eyes on this young lad thereafter and when he started his quest for a medal in Beijing Olympics 2008, he surprised and surpassed everybody’s expectations by hitting the bull’s eye and eventually winning a gold for India after a long gap of 28 years. He won gold in 10m air rifle event, indeed it was a proud moment for a country like India in which craze for other sports except cricket is negligible. Abhinav Bindra a young lad of just 25 years of age hails from Chandigarh. Winning this medal just before 61st independence day of India , it had given enough reasons to people to celebrate this day with more vigour and vitality. The news of India winning a medal in Olympics flashed across all news channels. They declared this day epic in the history of Indian sports, which is very true. Focus now shifted on Abhinav Bindra’s residence at Chandigarh. The proud parents were the centre of attraction now, reporters asking for their reaction on their son’s achievement. Questions like “ How you are feeling now after you heard this news” ? or “ Had they talked with their son after he won the medal ? These regular questions were asked by each and every news channel. In the meantime news of announcement of cash rewards by various state governments and organizations also came pouring in. Let’s hope in the future we don’t have to wait so many years for winning a medal in Olympics. hoping that the concerned organizations will sit back and revamp their strategy and plans, so in future India’s chances of winning medals gets more brighter by several folds.

Team India Again Choked In Final !

What the hell has happened to team India. History was again repeating itself when India yet again lost a crucial final . Not many days ago the bitterness of the Kitply cup final was so fresh in the minds of Indian people and now loss
of the Asia cup
final.
It has given enough reason to the selectors of team India to revamp it’s criteria for selecting the right team. As I am writing this with so much of anguish inside me, if right now I get a chance to be in the dressing room I would seriously give a hard kick to all the players . Now guys it’s the high time , how many finals this team wants to loose. I will give you a interesting bit of information which I came across when I was watching the match. Since 1999 India has played 22 finals in which India have won only 2 finals, they have lost 18 finals and 2 were shared. After hearing this, I was fuming like anything. It seems when Indian team reach the finals they just simply couldn’t able to handle the pressure of the final game.

When the match started between the Sri Lanka and India , I was confident that India will cruise easily and win the Asia cup. My confidence grew up several folds when I saw India bowled out the Lankans for the petite score of 273 on a flat wicket. Considering that in this tournament team making 300+ plus wasn’t safe at all, and now India has bowled them on 273, it would be easier for the india to chase this score . I thought it would be a piece of cake for india because batting of India was the only saving grace in this tournament. But Sri Lanka had some other plans for team India, the mysterious bowler Ajantha Mendis did the trick for the lankans. This guy is totally unfazed by the pressure of final, playing his first game against India he proved lethal for the Indian strong batting line up. He just has the experience of seven odd matches and this guy is progressing in leaps and bounds. At the end of the match his magical bowling figures was 8 overs- 13 runs- 6 wickets. Indian team bundled out for 173 runs in 39.3 overs.

India believed they stood a chance but clearly the match belonged to Ajantha Mendis who proved that he is spinner that's here to stay for a very very long time. India will vouch for that. Mendis won the man of the match as well as the man of the tournament award for his 17 wickets in the Asia cup.

Next Superstar..Imran Khan Or Harman Baweja ?

The clash of the two most awaited newcomers Imraan khan (nephew of Aamir khan ) and Harman Baweja will be witnessed on 4 july, 2008. These two will be battling out with their debut movie’s. Imraan khan has a little upperhand in this clash, because of his Mr. perfectionist uncle Aamir khan. As his debut movie jaane tu ya jaane na has been made under the Aamir khan production, and for Aamir khan as you all must be very must versed with his perfection. Although Aamir khan is not the director of this movie, but he didn’t left any stone unturned to assure that his nephew launch sets the box office cash registers by storm. The writer turned director Abbas Tyrewalla is also directing his first film. The zingy and peppy music is given by the maestro A.r rehman. The songs are already on everybody’s lips which is a positive sign.

On the other side Harman Baweja debut movie is been backed by the daddy dearest Harry Baweja and his girlfriend also his co-star in the movie Priyanka Chopra. Harry Baweja is also a known director in tinseltown, he had given the hits from the like’s of Dilwale , Imtihaan, Diljale, Deewane etc. And now in 2008 he has came up with his futuristic sci-fi flick Love Story 2050, set in the background of Mumbai in year 2050 . Made under the approx budget of 50 crores, it will be a test for Harman Baweja to prove his mettle in bollywood. Music is scored by the experienced Anu Malik which is also catching up slowily and steadily. Pitched against Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na can be a major setback for this movie.

If you ask me I will place my money on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na but on the other hand I am also positive about Love Story 2050. In the end I think Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na will score better than Love Story 2050.

Are We Alone In The Universe ?

Whenever we come across the news of UFO (unidentified flying objects) sightings, one question that come across in the minds of space researchers and human beings would be- Are we alone in the universe? Has there been existence of any species other than the human race? Heated debates, numerous arguments that’s what have been done till now and we are still at the square one. The space researchers still haven’t able to produce any concrete evidence of supreme species others than the human beings.

I wonder do these space researchers really want to know about them or they are just fooling themselves with facts and figures. It would be very stupid to think that these researchers aren’t aware of this thought, that if those species are found to be more advanced than us, they can do anything. But it’s just a thought, and I am hoping that this thought never comes into reality. Otherwise it could pose a strong threat for the human race.
